LIVING WELL with High Blood Pressure

Are you living with hypertension (HTN) or high blood pressure?  Are you concerned about developing HTN?  Are you caring for someone with HTN?  This class is for you!

Join this 6-week series aimed to improve HTN self-management.  Topics include basics of hypertension control, nutrition, physical activity, tobacco cessation, medication management, stress management, and creating short-term and long-term action personal action plans.

The intent of the scholarship is to assist women who live 3 or more hours drive from Lincoln but wish to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Applicant must reside in Love Memorial Cooperative Residence Hall on East Campus.

Post Drought Meeting for the Sandhills in Arthur January 9 - Postponed to later in January

Post Drought Meeting for the Sandhills will be held at the Arthur County Fairgrounds January 9th with a social beginning at 5:30 p.m., meal at 6:00 p.m. and the program starting at 6:30 p.m. The program is being sponsored by Zoetis, Nebraska Cattlemen, and Nebraska Extension.  There is no cost to attend the program, but you must register by January 7th to make sure we have enough food.  You may register by calling (308) 532-2683 or emailing rsaner2@unl.edu.

The program topics and speakers are:

What food should be thrown out after a power outage? How long is food in a refrigerator or freezer safe without power? Are condiments safe after a power outage? Be prepared!  The University of Wyoming is hosting the 7220 Wool Judging Invitational again this year in Laramie for youth that want to learn about or compete in the sheep side of Animal Science. The  contest will take place on Tuesday, January 10th.
